Half an hour from Marrakech, at the foot of the High Atlas mountains, the Lalla Takerkoust dam has created a sprawling lake that spreads over several kilometres, creating capes, canyons and peninsulas. On sunny days, the locals take refuge in the lake to cool off, have a picnic or go for a swim. Local service providers even offer camel, quad or buggy rides.
Pleasant restaurants have been set up on the beaches offering a privileged view of the surrounding landscapes.
